he National Police arrested two suspected terrorists in connection with an alleged plot to attack the Myanmar Embassy.
The two men are identified as Sigit Indrajit and Rohadi. Sigit was apprehended on Wednesday night at around 8:30 p.m. in the Tanjung Priok area in North Jakarta, while Rohadi was taken early on Thursday at around 3 a.m. from a house in Tangerang, Banten.
'Sigit is believed to have planned the [foiled] Myanmar Embassy attack,' police spokesman Brig. Gen. Boy Rafli Amar said on Thursday.
Police also seized explosive substances such as sulphur powder, black powder and iron pipe at the residence.
Earlier this month, the police arrested two suspected terrorists, Sefa Riano and Achmad Taufiq, while the two were travelling by motorbike in a busy residential area near Jl. Sudirman, Central Jakarta, and seized five homemade bombs from a backpack after authorities were alerted on their whereabouts.
The suspects said that they wanted to retaliate against Myanmar for the recent attacks on Rohingya Muslims there.
