The percentage of containers clearing customs through the red line is expected to decline to 15 percent.

Yudi said more efforts were needed to better control the density of containers at Tanjung Priok Port.

Currently, the Customs and Excise Office at Tanjung Priok Port provides customs clearance services until 11 p.m. every day, although few customers have benefited from the additional operating hours.

Ahead of Idul Fitri, the Tanjung Priok Customs and Excise Office has also opened 24-hour posts to speed up the importation of beef and horticulture products via the port. (ebf)
