hree people were killed in an inferno at a construction material store on Jl. Kemang Utara 9, Duren Tiga sub-district, Pancoran, South Jakarta, at around 4:50 p.m., on Sunday.
Early reports assert that the victims were unable to escape from the building when the fire broke out.
Nanang, an official from the South Jakarta Fire Department, said that according to the owner of the store, four people were inside the building when it caught fire. They were identified as Lilianti, Triani, Suyanto, and a baby that has not yet been identified.
He said fire fighters found three people -- Lilianti, Suyanto, and the baby -- dead at the scene.
'We are still searching for the last victim,' Nanang said as quoted by kompas.com.
According to preliminary information, the fire started inside the store and spread to a shop-house next door. It is unknown whether anyone died or was injured in the shop-house.
Officers are still trying to extinguish the flames. (ebf)
