AKARTA: Nine Indonesian Military (TNI) personnel did more than hit high notes at the Inul Vista karaoke lounges in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, late on Saturday.

They went on a rampage, denting the wall of the karaoke room they used and refusing to pay the bill, Kramat Jati Police chief Comr. Handini confirmed on Sunday.

She said the soldiers brought liquor with them into the karaoke lounge and drank it inside. A staff member at the karaoke lounge told them they were going to be fined for bringing the liquor inside.

'Then a soldier got angry and started to hit the walls,' she said as quoted by tribunnews.com.

The soldiers had been returned to their city garrison, which would pay the bills and compensation of Rp 2 million (US$172) to the karaoke lounge on Monday, Handini said. 'There will be no prosecution against the soldiers as they opted to settle the matter amicably,' she added.
