n probably the biggest upset of the tournament, Menara put an end to defending champion WISCI's unbeaten run of 13 matches in Division I, while the Rebels survived to live another day. In Division II, the Jakarta Barbarians' win ensured them a place in the Division II final, while the Mavecrics beat the UFCC in a close match in the Apple Coal JCA League 2013-2014.

At the Gandhi ground, Menara brought down high-flying WISCI by four wickets. Electing to bat first, WISCI found the going tough against Menara's seamers, who kept knocking the stumps at regular intervals. Six of the dismissals came through wickets. Mohit Ji Keswani took four, while Rikesh Parikh took three wickets. WISCI were bundled out for their season's lowest score of 85 runs in 19 overs. Rajeev scored 23 runs. Menara's run chase started disastrously having their backs to the wall at 26/4 in six overs and WISCI bowlers smelling blood. But a gritty knock of unbeaten 23 runs by Deepak Khullar and important partnerships, first with Harshad (19) and then Amit Bhat (10) saw Menara win through in the 26th over. JP Le Riche took four wickets.

The Fez Rebels saved the best for last, with a 10-wicket thrashing of the WPP-India XI. The Rebels needed a victory to keep their hopes alive to stay in Division I, and they delivered in style. Chasing 171 runs to win, the Rebels reached their target in just 23 overs, without losing any wickets. Corbon (80 not out) and OP Rajesh (74 not out) put on a record opening partnership of 171 runs. Earlier, Sandeep Gaur (95) and Pallav (31) helped the India XI put up a decent score of 170 runs, which in hindsight was not enough. Arvind and Marten Eddy took three wickets each.

At Cibubur, the Mavecrics beat the UFCC by three wickets in a hard-fought game. Batting first, the UFCC were all out for 135 runs in 25 overs. Rajeev Kumar scored 42 runs. Rakesh Sharma took four wickets, while Mitesh took two wickets. Dada Satish Pansare also took two wickets on his debut. The Mavecrics reached their victory target in 24 overs. Kunal scored 46 and Vishav made 43 runs.

Meanwhile, the Barbarians became the first team in Division II to reach the finals by beating the TKCC by 88 runs. Sent in to bat first, the Barbarians racked up 208/7 in 35 overs, on the back of Ben Burgess's 78 and Tim Gutsell's 41 runs. The TKCC were all out for a paltry 120 runs with Scott Masson taking four wickets. Hitesh Malhotra remained unbeaten on 41 runs.

The finals of both the divisions are due to take place on June 1. The winners, along with this year's leading individual performances, will be feted at the grand JCA's Annual Dinner on June 7 by Australian cricketing great, Merv Hughes.
