'€œThe KPK has not given a green light to eight individuals on the list so we have had to remove them,'€ Jokowi told the press at the State Palace.

However, he refused to disclose the names of the eight ministerial candidates when reporters asked the former Jakarta governor for their identities.

He also warned journalists to stop assuming who they were.

'€œI have read [one] media that published the [red-flagged] names and they were all wrong,'€ he said.

He added that he, together with Vice President Jusuf Kalla, was still looking for the right individuals to fill the positions left vacant by the eight failed candidates.

Separately, Kalla announced that they were likely to announce the new Cabinet in the next one to two days as they were facing difficulties in identifying clean individuals who deserved ministerial positions.

Jokowi submitted the names of the minister candidates to the KPK on Friday last week. On Sunday, the KPK submitted its findings to Jokowi.

KPK deputy chief Zulkarnain explained his commission had made the report based on the official wealth report forms (LHKPN), internal investigations and reports from the public. His commission gave red and yellow marks to Jokowi'€™s minister candidates.

He explained that minister candidates given red marks were highly vulnerable to being named graft suspects. Those given yellow marks, he added, also faced the possibility of being named suspects, but their risk level was lower than those with red marks. (alz/nfo)(+++)
