ilm director Riri Riza says he realizes he is carrying a heavy burden by directing the sequel of Ada Apa Dengan Cinta? (What's up with Cinta?), sometimes shortened to AADC.
AADC garnered wide public acceptance when it was screened in 2002, catapulting leading actors Nicholas Saputra and Dian Sastrowardoyo into stardom. The movie's original soundtrack album was also a major hit.
Riri said his team was working hard to live up to the public's high expectations of the film's sequel.
'We will make sure that the audience relates well to AADC2's storyline and musical score. AADC had the combination of a good film, a well produced soundtrack, a well-executed publication strategy and the right release date. We'll continuously work on those elements to make AADC2 as good a film as the first,' he said as quoted by tempo.co recently.
Riri said a number of sad events had marred the filmmaking process in the past year, including the death of Melly Goeslaw's mother and Anto Hoed's father. Melly and Anto were behind the film's music production.
