Indonesia's third president Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie was hospitalized on Friday afternoon with a bacterial infection.
The presidential medical team suggested Habibie restrict himself to total rest in the Army Hospital (RSPAD), executive director of the Habibie Center Rahimah Abdulrahim said.
"Currently all visits are prohibited. Visitors are limited so as to speed up the healing process," he said on Friday.
Habibie was hospitalized for observation and antibiotics, suffering from a bacterial infection, the Habibie Center announced in a Facebook post on Friday afternoon, also asking people to pray for the health of the former president.
"[At] 9:30pm, Habibie is in stable condition. No fever. And he continues to be in good spirits. He's now resting for the night. Thank you for all the kind words and prayers," the Facebook post said.
Habibie still could not take any visitors on Saturday morning, newsportal tribunnews.com reported.
Habibie, born in June 25, 1936, is a prominent engineer that served as research and technology minister for 20 years under the late president Soeharto's administration. He later succeeded Suharto, whose New Order Regime toppled in 1998. (rin)
