he Jakarta administration in cooperation with Go-Jek and Porter Delivery Service launched on Thursday a citywide program called #KAKI5JKT to facilitate street vendors in catering to residents.
Four-hundred culinary street vendors, all of whom have been trained by the Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Trade Agency, are participating in the program. The vendors' food and beverages have been certified by the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM).
The program is part of the Jakarta Smart City program. Food can be purchased from street vendors through Go-Jek food delivery service Go-Food and Porter Delivery Service.
During the launch at City Hall, Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama expressed hope that the program would not only increase street vendors' earnings but also provide easy, healthy and delicious food for customers.
Ahok said more street vendors would sign up for the program after being trained and certified by the BPOM.
