overnor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama fulfilled a Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summons on Tuesday for questioning as a witness in the case of graft suspect Mohamad Sanusi, a member of the City Council.
Sanusi was arrested late March after the KPK caught him allegedly receiving a bribe from a representative of PT Agung Podomoro Land (APL), a development company involved in the Jakarta Bay reclamation project. Two APL executives have also been named suspects.
Ahok arrived at the KPK headquarters at 9:44 a.m. to answer his first summons as part of the reclamation corruption case.
KPK will press Ahok for information about the two reclamation bills that were being debated by the City Council. The bills related to the contribution that developers would give to the city administration as well as reclamation permits, KPK spokeswoman Yuyuk Andriati said on Tuesday.
Previously, the KPK has also demanded the immigration office issue a travel ban for Ahok’s aide Sunny Tanuwidjaja and Agung Sedayu Group (ASG) chairman Sugianto Kusuma, alias Aguan, in connection with the case. The KPK has also questioned both Sunny and Aguan as well as a number of city councilors and Ahok’s subordinates in the city administration. (bbn)
