Despite winning both head-to-head matches, Jorgensen nonetheless had praise for Anthony’s tough opposition.
“He played more relaxed here,” the Dane told a post-match conference. He compared Anthony's performance in Jakarta to that in Kunshan, China, at the Thomas Cup men's team championship, where Denmark brought home the coveted trophy.
Anthony led in early points in both games but Jorgensen managed to catch up and outscore him in the end.
Anthony acknowledged that despite having learned his opponent’s pattern from previous encounters, he remained unable to beat him.
“Jan reads his opponent’s gestures perfectly. That’s why he was able to know that I was nervous during the games,” he said.
Anthony said he had learned a lot from his defeats and promised to work harder at improving his techniques and stamina for future matches. (yan)
