J

akarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama touted his achievements as governor during an event commemorating Jakarta’s 489th anniversary on Wednesday.

The stated achievements included transparent budgeting through an electronic system, cashless transactions, the one-roof integrated public service (PTSP) program and development of information technology (IT).

“Out budgeting is very transparent and punctual. We also don’t use the budget recklessly. Our one-roof integrated service program is also working well. We’ve achieved those things,” Ahok said at the National Monument (Monas) on Wednesday.

For cashless transactions, Ahok has introduced cashless transactions at city agencies to allow transactions to be easily traced.

Ahok will also intensify the cashless program by issuing the Jakarta One card in 2017.

The card will be multifunctional and can be used to purchase Transjakarta tickets, pay low-cost apartment rent, pay for parking and to make electronic road pricing (ERP) system payments.

Meanwhile, Ahok said the city would implement an IT system such as that at the Koja public hospital in North Jakarta and develop an electronic city library.

“We have the Jakarta Smart City program with the proper budgeting system. I believe that those are good accomplishments,” Ahok said. (bbn)
