Actress Michelle Ziudith used to love posting photos and checking Path updates. She also checked out what other people were posting each and every time she had the chance. Michelle was practically inseparable from her iPhone and felt that, as a celebrity, she had a duty to provide her fans with constant life updates.

Michelle’s attachment to her mobile phone changed when she was on set shooting I Love You from 38,000 Feet, a movie slated for released early in July.

“The shoot took place in a remote part of Bali. We had no signal at all. I panicked because I had taken a lot of photos but I couldn’t post any,” she said.

Refusing to admit defeat, Michelle took a motorbike 20 minutes uphill to an area with reasonable reception.

“I went there twice. Then I thought to myself, why do I have to be so attached to my gadgets? I realized that I had become a slave to my phone”.

Michelle tried to stop caring so much about whether or not her phone was with her at all times and now she no longer panics if she accidentally leaves her phone at home. The bubbly 21-year-old actress from Medan, North Sumatra, has decided it is better to use her phone to read novels and comics.

“I’ve started to regain the pleasures that I had lost due to too much internet and social media use. If there’s ever a break between scenes, I relax by reading and listening to music,” Michelle said.

Michelle likes to use the following apps to read electronically:

---------------

Goodreads

This app offers book reviews and information. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t want to buy a book based on the synopsis because I’ve been disappointed so many times by books that are not as good as they appear. I need the Goodreads application to read the reviews.

---------------

iBooks

I use this app to buy e-magazines so I don’t have to buy hard copies of magazines anymore. It’s convenient.

---------------

LINE Webtoon

I like to use this app to read comics. It has lots of free South Korean webcomics for users to read, it’s pretty cool.
