resident Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has condemned the Idul Fitri eve attack in the Central Java city of Surakarta, which left the bomber dead and injured a police officer.

The President called on people to remain calm, especially Muslims, who are in fasting.

“Any violence in the name of anything is unjustified. I condemn the bombing in Surakarta,” Jokowi told reporters as broadcast by Metro TV on Tuesday.

“I have asked the police chief to uncover the motive behind it and arrest those who were involved in the bombing,” he asserted. (dan)
