ayan Mirna Salihin’s father Darmawan Salihin told the court that Jessica Kumala Wongso had behaved strangely following Mirna's death on Jan. 6.

Darmawan told judges overseeing the murder trial at the Central Jakarta District Court that when he arrived at the hospital he asked Jessica what Mirna had consumed before her death. Jessica told Darmawan that Mirna had ordered Vietnamese coffee while Jessica claimed to have consumed only mineral water.

This was not in line with the bill, which showed that Jessica had ordered two cocktails and a Vietnamese coffee, Darmawan said.

After that Darmawan said he told Jessica and Christopher, the husband of Mirna’s sibling, to buy a Vietnamese coffee from Olivier café for him. After tasting the coffee, Darmawan said that he had not found anything wrong with the coffee.

But when he had asked for further explanation from Jessica, she seemed to avoid his questions and had acting like she was short of breath. However, Darmawan said he had been sure that Jessica was healthy.

Darmawan also said he had seen Jessica wander calmly around the hospital, despite having just witnessed her friend lose her life. In contrast, Darmawan claimed that Mirna’s friend Hani, who had been with Jessica and Mirna, appeared shocked and confused and had wept continuously.

Prosecutors have accused Jessica of premeditated murder, alleging that she put cyanide into Mirna’s coffee cup of Mirna during a meeting at Oliver café in Central Jakarta on Jan. 6. (bbn)
