rosecutors have set up four large screens in a courtroom at the Central Jakarta District Court to present CCTV footage from the café where Jessica Kumala Wongso, Wayan Mirna Salihin and Hani Juwita Boon shared a table shortly before Mirna’s death.
Jessica, the sole suspect in the case, stands accused of premeditated murder for allegedly putting cyanide into the drink of Mirna, who died on her way to the hospital from the cafe on Jan. 6.
Jessica has denied the allegations.
"These televisions will be useful to show the evidence of what really happened at the Olivier café," Prosecutor Ardito Muwardi said at the court on Wednesday, ahead of the hearing.
Jessica’s lawyers, meanwhile, said the CCTV footage did not indicate their client’s involvement.
Prosecutors have announced to present several other witnesses at Wednesday’s hearing, including Hani and numerous Olivier employees.
The panel of judges, presided over by Judge Kisyoro, considers Hani a ‘key witness’ in the case. (bbn)
