View all search resultstate-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Ministry is eyeing to create two more state-owned holding companies this year operating in two strategic sectors, namely food commodities and maritime.
SOEs Ministry secretary Imam A. Putro said the establishment of the two companies would begin right after the government finalized five holding companies set to run in five sectors, namely mining, energy, financial services, property and toll roads.
In the near term, he further said, there would be at least five new state-owned holding companies this year, as they only needed to wait for the issuance of a government regulation.
"We will also initiate the establishment of holding companies on food and maritime," he said on Thursday in Jakarta as quoted by kompas.com.
He expected the new holding companies to accelerate the SOEs’ financial performance. "We expect the sector-based holding company to increase the capacity of SOEs in getting good quality financing," Imam said. (ags)
