“The global economy is not yet back to normal. We need to create a sustainable budget to create a fiscal stimulus,” Jokowi said in his speech to the legislature.
According to the President, year-on-year inflation in July was 3.21 percent, with cumulative inflation of 1.76 percent, the lowest level in five years
A government budget cut would support the poverty eradication program and keep priority infrastructure development ongoing, he added.
“Strengthening the connecting infrastructure will create an efficient logistical system and create stable food prices,” he said, adding that Jokowi would speed up infrastructure development this year. (dan)
