View all search resultsour Indonesian students have been arrested by authorities in Gujrat district, 175 kilometers from Islamabad, Pakistan. The report was received by the Indonesian Embassy in Islamabad on Tuesday.
According to the release from the embassy, the four students were apprehended because their visas had expired in December 2015. Pakistani authorities reportedly rounded them up along with 24 other foreign students affiliated with Jamaah Tabligh.
Faiez Maulana from the Indonesian Embassy in Islamabad was quoted as saying that the embassy had been in contact with Jamaah Tabligh headquarters in Raiwind to identify the Indonesian students.
"We are contacting all parties to get consular access for the students," Faiez was quoted as saying by tempo.co.(dmr)
