annah Hasanah,  the wife of former Gorontalo governor and former maritime and fisheries minister Fadel Muhammad, and running mate Tonny Yunus registered as a gubernatorial pair hopeful with the Gorontalo General Elections Commission on Friday.

Hannah is a Gorontalo councillor while Tonny is a businessman and former Gorontalo regent. The pair is backed by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), the Gerindra Party, the United Development Party (PPP) and the National Awakening Party (PKB).

Hannah and Tonny will run against three other pairs. One is Rusli Habibie-Idris Rahim, the incumbent governor and deputy governor, respectively, supported by the Golkar Party and the Democratic Party. The second pair is Zainuddin Hassan-Adhan Dhambea, supported by the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), the National Mandate Party (PAN) and the Hanura Party.

The last pair is independent candidates Jamruddin Maloho and Muchtar Darise, who registered their candidacy on Thursday. (evi)
