oordinating Economic Minister Darmin Nasution has said the government is set to announce the 14th Indonesian economic policy package, which includes e-commerce development measures next week.
The senior minister further said it was President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo himself who had suggested the timing of the launch of the next policy package.
“The President suggested that the package’s launch be held at the beginning of the week. It could be on Tuesday or Wednesday,” Darmin said after he attended a meeting with President Jokowi and Communications and Information Minister Rudiantara to discuss the policy package at the State Palace on Wednesday.
For the policy package, he said, the government was preparing a regulation on Indonesia’s e-commerce roadmap, which consisted of 31 initiatives to address seven key issues in the e-commerce sector.
They comprised human resources and education, access to capital, tax incentives, consumer protection, cyber security, logistics and communication infrastructure, he went on. (ebf)
