akarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama and Deputy Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat are motivated by the election polls conducted by Saiful Mujani Research and Consultant (SMRC) that show that 75 percent of Jakarta residents are satisfied with their performance.

“I’m grateful for the survey results but it will be only used for our information. The survey has become our motivation to stay focused in our work,” Djarot said at City Hall on Friday.

Jakarta residents are satisfied with the current administration because of bureaucratic reformation, especially in regard to the optimization of the Jakarta one-stop integrated service (PTSP) to provide better public services, he added.

He also showed several other achievements by his administration, which included a cleaner environment, the development of parks, road improvements and corruption elimination within the city bureaucracy by dismissing corrupt employees.

According to the SMRC survey released on Thursday, Ahok-Djarot’s electability was 45.4 percent, followed by Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono-Sylviana Murni at 22. 4 percent and Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno at 20.7 percent.

Ahok, however, said he was not satisfied with the poll as the pair need to get more than 50 percent to be reelected on Feb. 15. “Let’s see in Feb. 15,” Ahok said. (bbn)
