akarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama was still busy on Thursday, his last day in office at City Hall before he moves to his campaign team's camp on Jl. Borobudur, Central Jakarta, as he will begin his lengthy election campaign from Oct. 28 to Feb. 11.
After introducing acting governor Soni Sumarsono to the civil servants of the Jakarta administration, Ahok could be found in his office signing numerous disposition letters and other documents.
"I just finished the documents. I won't burden the acting governor. There are still a lot of disposition letters," Ahok said.
He said he did not pack his belongings because he would still be the governor after the leave period for the campaign ended.
Ahok said he had returned his official car and would buy a secondhand car as his mode of transport during the election campaign.
Ahok and Deputy Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat are seeking reelection in the gubernatorial election on Feb. 15, 2017. The duo are being challenged by two other candidate pairs: Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono-Sylviana Murni and Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno.
Ahok said he still did not know his campaign schedule. "I don't know what I will do tomorrow," Ahok said, adding that it was his campaign team that arranged the schedule of his activities. (bbn)
