he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Friday morning arrested Cimahi Mayor Atty Suharty Tohija after searching her house on Jl. Sari Asih IV in the Sukasari district of Bandung.
The incumbent is currently on leave to campaign for a regional election next year.
About 15 KPK officers had come to the property late on Thursday night in three cars with Jakarta license plates, West Java Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus said.
Yusri added that the search was completed at 5:30 a.m. on Friday and that the team had confiscated documents. “They also took Itoch Tohija,” he said, referring to Atty’s husband and former Cimahi mayor.
Several officers from Sukasari Police also joined the search.
The KPK has provided no official information about its investigation into the case. (evi)
