he campaign team of incumbent Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama and Deputy Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat expects to double the crowdfunding donated funds from the current amount of Rp 48 billion.
"We hope to obtain Rp 80 billion by mid-January," said treasurer of the team Charles Honoris in a press conference on Jl. Borobudur, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday.
Charles added that Ahok had conducted 32 gala dinners, since the beginning of the campaign period on September 20, in which the team could receive up to Rp 3 billion from each event.
He said the team decided to stop the gala dinner programs this week because Ahok and Djarot would focus on doing spot checks and meeting residents.
"Everyday, we receive about Rp 400 million outside the gala dinner programs. We believe we can obtain Rp 15 billion in January without even holding a gala dinner," he said.
