T

he Jakarta Police are investigating the motive behind the murder of six people at a house in Pulo Mas, East Jakarta, including whether the killing was part of a robbery.

Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono said Tuesday that for the time being the incident was believed to be purely a murder case because no valuables had been found missing from the house.

“[For the time being] the incident is still [believed] to be a murder, not a robbery, because no missing items have been found,” Raden said at the scene as quoted by Kompas.com.

Police dogs have been deployed to track down the perpetrators.

According to the police report obtained by The Jakarta Post, the scene was first discovered at around 9:25 a.m. by a female witness who reported it to the nearby Kayuputih Police station as a robbery. The report said that altogether 11 people had been locked inside the bathroom.

The six people who died have been identified as Dodi Triono, the owner of the house, Diona Arika Andra Putri and Dianita Gemma Dzalfayla, Dodi’s daughters, Amel, a friend of one of the children and Yanto and Tasrok, the family’s drivers. (bbn)
