mmigration officials arrested nine Nepalese citizens on Sunday night during a law enforcement operation against foreigners without proper stay permits in the South Sulawesi capital of Makassar.

They found nine Nepalese in a house in the Puri Mas Permai housing complex in Barombong subdistrict, Tamalate district. The immigration office, led by Gindo Ginting, accused the nine of lacking valid immigration documents.

They are being held in Makassar Police, tribunnews.com reported.

“Police will handle the legal matters. Afterward, they will be sent to us,” Gindo said on Monday. He added that the nine Nepalese had been in Makassar for about a week.

The nine suspects are between 27 and 35 years of age. (evi)
