President Jokowi on Wednesday released Antasari from Tangerang Prison, Banten. Antasari earlier said that he needed clemency to rehabilitate his reputation.

The court sentenced Antasari to 18 years in prison in 2010 for masterminding the drive-by shooting of Nasrudin Zulkarnaen, a director of state-owned pharmaceutical company Rajawali Putra Banjaran. He will have fully served his sentence by 2022. (dan)
