ore than a hundred vendors from Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines are currently participating in a three-day wedding industry exhibition organized by online wedding vendor directory Bridestory at the Sheraton Grand Jakarta Gandaria City Hotel in South Jakarta.
The event, which runs from Friday to Sunday, saw vendors displaying essential wedding products from 16 categories, including decorations and lighting, dresses and attire, jewelry, venues, photography and entertainment.
Bridestory CEO Kevin Mintaraga said this year’s event was the company’s second iteration. For this year, the event takes Green Botanical as its theme to promote a trend of wedding events in Indonesia.

The participants were promoting the use of botanical elements as decorations for wedding events to create the impression of freshness, cleanliness and modernity, lead exhibition coordinator Nathalia Isodara explained.
“Like last year, we are targeting around 15,000 visitors for the event,” Kevin said, adding that a similar event would also be held in Surabaya, East Java, in the near future.
He said wedding exhibitions were important because according to 4,000 couples surveyed by his company, 14.5 percent of would-be brides and bridegrooms found vendors at exhibitions.
“We see that many customers still attend wedding exhibitions and visit vendors while they are planning their wedding,” he said. (yon/hwa)
