ublicly listed tour and travel firm PT Bayu Buana plans to establish at least 13 new branches and partners this year as part of its effort to expand its network across the country.
Bayu Buana president director Agustinus Pake Seko said on Tuesday the company would open seven or eight branches in Greater Jakarta and assign four or five partners in cities outside Java.
The company currently had 21 points of sales, consisting of 18 branches and three partners, Agustinus said.

“For the retail branches, we will open in malls with opening costs of around Rp 1 billion [US$75,000] per branch. So if we aim to build eight branches, we need to prepare about Rp 8 billion, which will be taken from the company’s internal cash reserves,” Agustinus said.
The company currently has a subsidiary in Depok, West Java, PT Babus Slam Buana Mitra, which provides umroh (minor haj) services.
The subsidiary was expected to have served about 7,500 customers from last November to May 2018, he said. (yon/bbn)
