rema FC of Malang, East Java enjoyed a solid leading of 3-0 in the first half of the final match of the Indonesian President’s Cup soccer championship against Pusamania Borneo FC of Samarinda, East Kalimantan on Sunday.

Hanif Sjahbandi broke Pusamania’s Wawan Hendrawan’s net in the 30th minute to show some domination in the 30,000-capacity Pakansari Stadium in Cibinong, Bogor, West Java.

Pusamania’s Michael Orah did an own-goal in the 37th minute to benefit his opponents. Top scorer Cristian Gonzales contributed the third goal for Arema in the 42nd.

Arema, runner-up of the 2016 Indonesian Soccer Championship, is favored to win the 2017 President’s Cup, especially after 2015 holder Persib Bandung failed its title campaign in the semifinals.
