Online housing portal Rumah123 has had a rising number of transactions from Jan. to March this year.
The transaction surge has caused revenue to increase by 43 percent, said Rumah123 country general manager Ignatius Untung in Jakarta on Wednesday, but he declined to elaborate on the specific figure.
He said that the increase was due to the rising number of listed houses available on websites. "The number of listed houses [on the portal] has increased from 560,000 last year to 612,000 this year [over the same period of time]," he said on Wednesday.
Ignatius said that most of the people sought houses in Jakarta's neighboring cities, like Tangerang in Baten and Bekasi and Depok in West Java, but there are also those who sought houses in South and West Jakarta.
Ignatius said most house customers could only afford houses outside Jakarta because of the increasing prices of land in the capital. (bbn)
