wo parking attendants and two officers from the city’s transportation agency were allegedly caught red-handed in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta during an operation against illegal levies, a police officer said.
North Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Dwiyono said the arrests were made based on reports from residents that the suspects had allegedly collected illegal parking fees amounting to around Rp 300 million (US$22,500) in the area since 2013.
“We apprehended the suspects who were wearing transportation agency uniforms when collecting the illegal fees in Kelapa Gading on Monday,” Dwiyono said as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com on Tuesday.

The parking attendants gave the collected fees to the agency’s field officers every day. The officers later allegedly shared some of the money with their superior.
According to the report, police also seized a bundle of car and motorcycle parking tickets, an assignment letter issued by the North Jakarta Transportation Agency and money. (kkk)
