They will show off their musical skills in front of entrepreneurs who run malls, cafes, restaurants and hotels in Greater Jakarta next Monday in an event held by the card's initiator Street Music Institute (IMJ) in conjunction with the Education and Culture Ministry.
IMJ founder Andi Malewa said that after next Monday's event, the businesspeople and the ministry would "team up to give space for expression by the street musicians," according to a report by wartakota.tribunnews.com on Wednesday.
Previously, the street musicians joined an audition to obtain the card, as well as taking part in a workshop by prominent drummer Gilang Ramadhan.
Through such assistance it is expected that the musicians will not go back to the streets to earn a living. (agn)
