A

woman claims to have been robbed by an armed man at Mega Glodok Kemayoran (MGK) Mall in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta on Monday.

“Please share [this], everyone, I was just mugged by [a man with] a gun at MGK Mall Kemayoran while waiting for the elevator and my cell phone was taken,” the woman, named Gesty Acyka Clourin, claimed on her Facebook account.

Gesty also uploaded footage from the mall’s CCTV camera and a still photo of the alleged robber.

In the 31-second video, the alleged robber stood behind Gesty and seemed to look around the vicinity before approaching the victim and forcing her to go to an emergency door.

Kemayoran Police chief Comr. M. Rosid confirmed the attack on Tuesday, saying he had questioned several witnesses in the effort to find the perpetrator.

“We have questioned witnesses in relation to the case and had some headway and have therefore handed the case to the [Central Jakarta] police,” Rosid said as quoted by kompas.com.

Other media have reported that a toy gun was used in the mugging. (wnd)
