he South Tangerang Police have arrested a 44-year-old man for the alleged rape of his 17-year-old daughter, resulting in the girl getting pregnant twice.
The case was uncovered after the girl gave birth to her second child in Ciater subdistrict, South Tangerang, on Wednesday last week.
A midwife who assisted at the birth discovered that the girl’s father was also the father of her children, prompting her to file a police report.
“The midwife asked [her] who the father of the baby was, but [she] refused to disclose any names. After repeated attempts [she] was finally willing to reveal that she was impregnated by her own father,” South Tangerang Police’s criminal unit head Adj. Comr. Ahmad Alexander said on Tuesday.
Ahmad added that the alleged victim told the midwife that she had been repeatedly raped by her father since she was 15 years old and had twice given birth as a result.
“She didn’t dare tell anyone as the perpetrator threatened her,” Ahmad said.
The father and daughter lived in the same house in Serpong, South Tangerang. (fac)
