Heru, who now serves as the head of the Jakarta Finance and Asset Management Board (BPKAD), said he had been informed about his successful application for the position.
“There was a decision from the assessment team yesterday, but I have yet to receive the official announcement,” Heru told reporters at the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry’s office in South Jakarta on Tuesday as quoted by kompas.com.
Heru said he had begun preparing to fulfill the administrative process before officially taking over the new post.
Heru applied for the vacant position after the previous Presidential Secretariat office head, Darmansjah Djumala, was inaugurated as an ambassador to Austria and Slovenia in March.
During Jokowi’s time as the governor of the capital, Heru served as the head of the Gubernatorial and Foreign Affairs Bureau before serving as North Jakarta Mayor. (fac)
