ollowing the rebranding of Ocean Ecopark in Taman Impian Jaya Ancol amusement park in North Jakarta to “Allianz Ecopark,” the park’s management has set a target of attracting 1.8 million visitors to the park a year in the near future.
The name change was officially revealed on Sunday and will last until 2022.
PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol deputy director of Recreation and Resort Agus Sudarno said 1 million people visited the ecopark last year, a small figure compared to the 18 million people who visited Ancol.
“Last year, Ancol was visited by around 18 million people. We expect that at least 10 percent of Ancol visitors will pay a visit to the Ecopark,” Agus said.
Following its name change, private life insurer Allianz plans to conduct a monthly sports event in the Allianz Ecopark to promote the park to Greater Jakarta residents, said Allianz Indonesia head of Market Management Karin Zulkarnaen.
