ity-owned Bank DKI has decided to settle the electricity bills of three state high schools in West Jakarta, which had their power cut by state-owned energy company PLN because of the late payment of electricity bills.
The schools are SMA 112 in Meruya Kembangan, SMA 85 in Srengseng and SMA 65 on Jl. Raya Panjang.
“We are willing to help the schools by providing bailouts to settle their bills,” said Bank DKI corporate secretary Zulfarshah.
He further said that the bank usually helped state schools settle their bills upon receiving a payment order from the Education Agency.

However in the three schools’ case, the bank had yet to receive any instruction from the agency, which meant it had yet to pay the bills.
“We can do nothing without an order from the agency,” Zulfarshah said, adding that every three months the schools would finalize the bills with the bank. (dra)
