A

naked man whose attempt to enter the Presidential Palace was foiled on Monday, tested positive for methamphetamine use, the police have said.

Jakarta Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono said on Tuesday that the 33-year-old man, identified only as BS, tested positive after undergoing a urine test on Monday.

“He did not have the drug in his possession, but he tested positive,” Argo said on Tuesday as quoted by kompas.com.

The Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres) caught BS attempting to enter the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta on Monday morning.

The man approached the palace via the Jl. Medan Merdeka Utara entrance, which was tightly guarded by Paspampres and military police personnel, who immediately apprehended him.

In a video uploaded on Facebook by a netizen with the account name Novita Sitinjak, it can be seen that BS attempted to escape from the three Paspampres members who caught him. The incident, which occurred at 7:35 a.m., became a media highlight on Monday. (fac)
