tate-owned energy giant Pertamina has announced that it has established several subsidiaries to operate in the fields of electricity, geothermal, oil and gas upstream and shipping.

“The companies will operate in the near future,” said Pertamina president director Elia Massa Manik at the House of Representatives compound in Jakarta on Monday as reported by tribunnews.com.

The first company is PT Pertamina Power Indonesia, which will focus on power plant projects, said Elia, adding that the company was different from Indonesia Power, another subsidiary of the company.

The second company is PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy, which will specialize in geothermal-powered plants.

The third company is PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia, which will operate in the oil and gas upstream business, said Elia, adding that another subsidiary that would operate in shipping was PT Pertamina Internasional Shipping. (bbn)
