ndonesia and Saudi Arabia have sealed US$27 billion in private sector deals across various fields, including clean energy, petrochemicals and aviation fuel services.

The agreements were signed on Wednesday at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah, where President Prabowo Subianto met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) after arriving on Tuesday for his first state visit to the Middle Eastern country.

“Both sides welcomed the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoU) during this visit between private sector institutions […], which reflects the aspirations of both sides toward an advanced economic partnership,” the two countries announced in a joint statement.

Beyond the headline deals, both sides have pledged deeper collaboration in crude oil and derivative supplies, energy supply chains and climate policy alignment, as well as mineral resources, renewables and energy efficiency projects.

The countries have also agreed to harness emerging technologies including artificial intelligence in the energy sector and to “develop an enabling environment for them”.
