As of 11 a.m. Thursday, the anti-graft body has yet to provide details regarding the arrest, although KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah confirmed the arrest was related to bribery.
“It is true that a KPK team conducted an operation in Bengkulu. We got information from local people, and when we verify the information, we found indication of bribery involving a local law-enforcement personel,” Febri said Thursday.
During the operation, the anti-graft body also arrested other individuals and seized an undisclosed sum of cash. “An investigation at the Bengkulu Police is ongoing,” Febri said.

The arrested individuals are scheduled to be flown in to Jakarta this afternoon. The anti-graft body is expected to name a suspect in the case within 24 hours after the arrest.
The arrest was the third the KPK made in the province in three months.
On June 6, KPK investigators arrested official at the Bengkulu Higher Court, Parlin Purba, on bribery allegations. On June 20, the KPK also arrested Bengkulu Governor Ridwan Mukti for corruption and money laundering.
If confirmed, this is the second judge arrested for corruption in Bengkulu.
In May last year, the KPK arrested Janner Purba, a judge and the then head of Kapahiang District Court in the province. (bbs)
