View all search resultsfficers of the East Jakarta Transportation sub-agency were swarmed upon by a number of people when they held regular raids over vehicles parked illegally on sidewalks along Jl. Paus, Rawamangun, East Jakarta on Wednesday morning.
"We caught some violators and were about to tow their vehicles. At that moment, a provocateur attacked the officers,” said Slamet Dahlan, the sub-agency’s control and operational division head, as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com on Wednesday.
The officers and the drivers were involved in an arguments at first, before the latter attacked the officials by punching and scratching them, he explained.
However, other officers and bystanders managed to break up the fight and no further injuries were caused in the incident.
The sub-agency’s officers will report the attack to the police, Slamet added. (agn)
