span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language:EN-US">The city administration is pushing the government to revoke a moratorium that has halted work on a man-made islet built on reclaimed land in the North Jakarta Bay, after the project developer revised the Environmental Impact Analysis (Amdal).
“The developer has complied with the points [the moratorium was based on], so we hope the administrative sanction can be revoked, as has been done with islets C and D,” Jakarta Development Planning Board head Tuty Kusumawati said on Wednesday, as quoted by kompas.com.
In early September, the government lifted administrative sanctions on the construction of islets C and D, because the developer had complied with terms and conditions set by the Environment and Forestry Ministry.
Previously, the ministry required the developer of Islet G, PT Muara Wisesa Samudra, to halt construction until it revised the Amdal documents as well as reported the amount of construction materials, such as sand and stone, to be used.
The developer was also required to coordinate project control and evaluation efforts with state-owned electricity firm PLN, state-owned gas distributor PT Nusantara Regas and a subsidiary of state-owned energy firm PT Pertamina Hulu Energy. (ecn)
