Singer Teuku Adifitrian, better known as Tompi, has announced that he planned to leave the music industry next year.

“This is my last year singing. I’m not going to perform anymore next year,” Tompi said as quoted by kompas.com.

The “Selalu Denganmu” (Always With You) singer declined to reveal the reasons behind his decision, saying only that he had important things to do.

“There is something else I want to focus on and [it’s] more important. For that reason, I have to make a choice,” he explained.

The 39-year-old asserted that his upcoming project had nothing to do with his religious beliefs.

“There’s a big thing I have to do; a big thing for me,” he said. “Just wait for the announcement. Maybe I will disclose [the reason] next year. It’s still a long way to go [and] the decision can change, but so far, I’m 85 percent certain.”
