View all search resultst has been proposed to rename a section of road between Jl. Rasuna Said, one of the capital's busiest thoroughfares in South Jakarta, and Ragunan, an official has said.
South Jakarta Mayor Tri Kurniadi said on Monday the new name for the section of road was Jl. Jenderal Besar DR. AH Nasution, the Army general who survived an attempted abduction by suspected members of the Indonesian Communist Party on Sept. 30, 1965, according to the national history.
"The idea has been proposed by the Nasution family," said Tri as quoted by kompas.com, adding that the proposal had been submitted to Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.
Tri said the section in question was from Jl. Mampang Prapatan and Jl. Warung Jati Barat to the traffic lights in front of the Agriculture Ministry on Jl. Harsono RM in Ragunan.
Tri said the final say would be in the hands of the governor. (fac)
