he owner of a coffee shop identified as Wibisono Wisnuwardhana Wisesa, 20, sustained serious burns after reportedly getting acid thrown at him while trying to break up a fight.

The incident was reported to have taken place on Wednesday at around 5 p.m. near his coffee house on Jl. Aria Putra, Serua, Ciputat, South Tangerang.

“The victim, who was running his business as usual, saw a fight taking place near his coffee house and tried to break it up,” South Tangerang Police criminal unit head Adj. Comr. Ahmad Alexander said on Friday as quoted by kompas.com.

 “He was rushed to South Tangerang General Hospital,” Ahmad said.

An 18 year-old identified as ZM, the alleged perpetrator of the acid attack, was arrested on Thursday.

“He will be charged under Article 351 on assault, which carries a maximum sentence of five years’ imprisonment,” Ahmad said. (iwa)
