wo Indian nationals were deported to their home country on Friday for overstaying their visas following a raid carried out by the Bekasi Immigration Office in West Java.
The two had overstayed their visas by 44 days, Bekasi Immigration Office head Sutrisno said, as reported by tribunnews.com.
"We discovered that they had violated the Immigration Law after we interrogated them at our office," he said at his office on Friday, adding that the two could not afford to pay the fee to extend their stay.
The two were apprehended at an apartment in the city during a week-long raid conducted from May 11 in cooperation with the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), the Indonesian Military (TNI), the police and the Bekasi administration.
Sutrisno said that his office had intensified immigration raids in several locations, such as factories, restaurants and apartment buildings. (fac)
