View all search resultsT Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) marketing director Ralph Scheunemann says a fire that engulfed the JIExpo convention center in Central Jakarta on Tuesday will not hamper preparations for the Asian Games.
A ballroom being constructed inside the building is to become one of the venues for the Asian Games in August. Ralph said he had been in touch with the Indonesian Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASGOC) and assured them that everything was under control.
He said the building would be finished ahead of the commencement of the games.
"The [area] used for the Asian Games did not catch fire, because the blaze broke out on the 7th floor, while the one for the Asian Games will be on the 3rd floor," he said on Tuesday evening, as quoted by kompas.com. (fac)
